Summary/Reaction
We use body language everyday, whether you are an adult or if you are a child. For example, in Japan, they usually bow when they greet each other. However, the most intersting item is they even bow to each other while they are talking on the phone. Body language is very important in communicating with each other, but it is easily misunderstood, so it is very important to learn how to use body language. There are different kinds of body language, these include: Open/Closed positions. People often cross their legs or arms if they don't agree with what you are saying. Even if they cross their arms it might mean that they are angry. Proximity is about the distance that the speaker is talking to the listnener. This distance varies from country to country. The last and the most common one is "Hand gestures" it is very complicated and is often misunderstood by many. Common hand gestures include the Ok or thumbs up to show agreement between you and your friends. In conclusion, body language is also a language that everyone should use. It can help us during our communication with people not only from our country and to those who we meet the first time.
Outside Reading
This is an outside reading I found on the internet, it shows some examples of body language. Some are very common body languages in Taiwan. These are biting nails which shows nervousness, rubbing hands which mean anticipation. Some I found that is uncommon in Taiwan are rubbing nose which means lying, walking with hands in pocket which means dejection. Through this list we can learn the simple body language and it is very usefull.
